Limtronik and VIDEOTON present international manufacturing network

Limburg, 20 October 2026 – Locations across Europe and overseas, different manufacturing strengths and a shared production network: At electronica 2026 in Munich, Limtronik and the VIDEOTON Group will demonstrate the opportunities their international network offers electronics manufacturers. From development and electronics manufacturing to the assembly of complete systems, customers can draw on a wide range of expertise and production capacities. This enables flexible production concepts, scalable manufacturing tailored to demand and production close to key sales markets.

Limtronik has been part of the VIDEOTON Group since July 2025. This partnership opens up new opportunities for the electronics manufacturer and its customers to develop international production strategies. After all, not every product or stage of production has the same requirements. During the introduction of a new product, for example, close collaboration with development teams, short communication channels and flexibility are essential. As production volumes increase, other factors may become more important. Proximity to the respective sales market can also play a decisive role.

"For our customers, it is becoming increasingly important to be able to choose manufacturing locations flexibly and adapt production capacities to different requirements," explains Gerd Ohl, Managing Director of Limtronik GmbH. "With VIDEOTON, we have the opportunity to implement projects within an international network. This allows us to make targeted use of the strengths of individual locations – from highly automated electronics manufacturing to complex assembly processes. It gives our customers greater flexibility in terms of costs, capacities and supply chains."

Manufacturing where it makes sense

The structure of the network demonstrates how different requirements can be met. At its German site in Limburg, Limtronik contributes its expertise in development support and highly digitalised electronics manufacturing. Four SMT lines, three in Germany and one in the USA, enable production ranging from prototypes to high volumes. Additional capacities and specialised manufacturing facilities are available within the VIDEOTON Group.

In Hungary, VIDEOTON focuses on highly automated electronics manufacturing and the integration of complex systems. Bulgaria offers particular advantages for labour-intensive assembly and through-hole technology (THT) processes. In the USA, Limtronik operates its own facility in Colorado, where SMT production capacity has recently been expanded. This also gives customers serving the North American market access to local manufacturing capacities.

These capabilities provide customers with a range of options: they can initially develop and manufacture new products in close collaboration with Limtronik, access additional capacity within the network as requirements change, or relocate production closer to key sales markets.

Greater manufacturing depth, fewer interfaces

Gerd Ohl explains: "Today, it is often no longer just about the assembled printed circuit board, but about complete devices and systems. The more service providers involved, the greater the coordination effort."

Customers also benefit from the combined expertise within the VIDEOTON Group. Both Limtronik and VIDEOTON have extensive expertise in electronics manufacturing services (EMS), the assembly of complete devices and systems (box-build), and control cabinet manufacturing. In addition, VIDEOTON offers a broad range of further manufacturing services, including machining, sheet metal processing, and plastics manufacturing. Limtronik and its customers can now also benefit from these additional capabilities. This allows customers to source a wider range of manufacturing processes from a single group of companies while reducing the number of suppliers and the associated coordination effort.
